Code of Conduct
Welcome to the Voices of Cook team!INTRODUCTION
Thank you for offering to volunteer with us. You will be a much valued part of our team, helping to reinvigorate democracy in Cook. The Code of Conduct sets out the obligations and other conditions that we trust you will accept and follow.
We aim to provide you with a safe environment to perform your volunteer role and will at all times respect your privacy, including keeping your private information confidential. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know.
OUR VALUES
We trust you will uphold our values in all your interactions when volunteering:
Respect - We respect the rights and privacy of our participants and volunteers. We actively listen to all voices and value each person’s perspective and input.
Inclusion - We encourage all our community members to fully participate in democracy and ensure our voices are heard by our political representatives. We value and listen to the unique perspectives of everyone, regardless of their backgrounds, identities or differences.
Integrity - We uphold honesty and transparency within our group and in how we interact with our community. We ensure that our behaviour is ethical and accountable.
Reliability - We advocate for the use of reason and science in public policy. We use reliable sources of information as the basis for action and all our communications with our community.

Be your best self – always act positively and in the best interests of our organisation;
Always act lawfully, honestly, ethically and with integrity in your involvement with Voices of Cook;
Apply skills, knowledge and experience with due diligence and care;
Follow all reasonable directions – only undertaking duties you are authorised and directed to perform;
Uphold the organisation’s vision, mission and values;
Comply with relevant legislation, standards and directions as provided by Voices of Cook;
Refrain from advocating personal policy positions unless aligned with official Voices of Cook policy positions.
Refrain from providing false or misleading information in relation to the organisation;
Avoid any conflicts of interest that may not align with our values and mission, and could potentially harm the reputation and objectives of our organisation;
Be transparent and accountable for your actions, providing clear explanations when necessary.
