Your Voice. Our Community.

Not the Party Line.

Politics has been about party bosses for too long. Voices of Cook is a grassroots movement of locals reclaiming our federal seat in Parliament. We don’t answer to a party—we answer to you.

Why Cook Needs a New Way

For decades, our representatives have been told how to vote by party leaders in Canberra. When the interests of the party clash with the interests of the people of Cook, the party wins.

It’s time to change the story. We are part of the growing "Community Independent" movement—a non-partisan, volunteer-led effort to find a representative who:

  • Listens first: Their policy is driven by the community, not a party platform.

  • Votes for us: They have the freedom to vote for what’s best for Cook, every single time.

  • Restores Trust: No "pork barrelling" or backroom deals—just transparent, honest representation.

How it Works: The 3-Step Plan

Voices of Cook isn’t just a protest; we are a process. Here is how we return power to you:

  1. The Listening Phase: We host "Kitchen Table Conversations", conduct Surveys and Straw Polls across the electorate to find out what keeps you up at night—from the cost of living to climate integrity.

  2. The Community Report: We compile everything we hear into a "Voices of Cook" report. This becomes the job description for our future representative.

  3. The Candidate: We find and support an independent candidate who lives in our community, shares our values, and is committed to the Community Report.

Our Beliefs

We believe that when the community speaks, the representative should listen. It’s a simple idea, but in modern politics, it’s revolutionary.

  • Integrity: Accountability and honesty in everything we do.

  • Inclusion: Every voice in Cook deserves a seat at the table, regardless of past voting history.

  • Reliability: We use facts not opinions

  • Independence: We are not a political party. We are your neighbours.

The Community Independent movement only works if you’re in it. You don't need to be a political expert—you just need to care about where we live.
